We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a position in Geismar, LA. This position provides technical engineering information to company supervision and crafts to ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, and specifications. Non-exempt role; Reports to Engineering Manager or Project Manager; Establishes procedures for specific goals in broad area of work / only results are reviewed / develops procedures within limits of policy and guidelines.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience
• Working knowledge of surveying techniques and equipment
• Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace

Functional Requirements:

• Interpret designs / drawings for crafts.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors.
• Prepare field design change requisitions and "as built" drawings as required.
• Prepare and disseminate to Supervisor all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc.
• Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Review and comment on constructability of design as required. Conduct value engineering functions.
• Attend meetings with other contractors, clients, or A/E representatives to coordinate discipline's design and construction effort.
• Provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials or equipment.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
