Job Overview

The Macy’s Marketing team is seeking an accomplished Affiliate Marketing Director to lead the transformation for the channel. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across different categories of affiliates, leveraging industry insights to take performance to the next level. This leader will be skilled at building both internal and external relationships, well versed in creative solutions that drive results, and a team member that others can learn from and collaborate with. 

You will lead the development, execution and analysis of the affiliate marketing strategy, working closely with external partners and liaise with internal teams to drive promotions and marketing programs to generate qualified traffic and sales. You will lead key relationships with publishers, Macy’s affiliate agency and proactively explore ways to expand our relationship with existing publishers. You will be responsible for the direct management of the affiliate marketing team, delivering clear direction and support as needed. 

The ideal candidate must be a change agent that is highly collaborative, a self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a proven record of managing a high performing team. Strong communication skills are essential in this role, as the Affiliate Director will be integral in delivering information across a diverse set of internal stakeholders and external partners.   

 

What You Will Do

  • Senior point of contact for affiliate marketing.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive affiliate strategies to drive performance growth at the partner and category level.
  • Maintain and grow direct relationships with affiliate partners by engaging in regular communication and owning partner-level strategy/planning/optimization.
  • Monitor affiliate program performance metrics daily; provide optimization guidance to agency and team to appropriately react to business based on metrics. 
  • Provide internal business partners with weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting on program performance along with recommendations on opportunities for growth. 
  • Proactively monitor competitive landscape, synthesize insights, and provide thought-leadership to internal partners.
  • Work with technology team on implementing new or enhancing existing partner data feeds related to the affiliate program (e.g. product feeds, mobile app tracking, etc).
  • Lead key projects in support of enterprise priorities and develop testing plans to achieve revenue goals. 

 

Skills You Will Need

Retail Industry Knowledge: Passion for and knowledge of the retail industry and will have backgrounds in large-scale, omni-channel retail, with proven ability to persistently increase traffic, conversion & sales.  

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and database skills, coupled with visual presentation capabilities. Experienced in delivering value across the full customer journey (awareness, consideration, and demand) while optimizing various KPIs, and proficient with different attribution methodologies (e.g., last click and multi-touch) and measurement systems.  

Organization and Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to develop and maintain efficient systems of organization.

Project Management: Proficient in project and process management, capable of effectively managing workload, priorities, and timelines, with a background in large-scale, omni-channel retail and a proven ability to increase click share, traffic, conversion, and sales.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to think analytically and pragmatically, and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and executives.
