Job Number: 1179

The Employee Benefits Manager will be primarily based in the Riverside Research Centreville, Virginia, location, with the ability to occasionally work from the Riverside Research Arlington, Virginia, location.  The role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three (3) days in the office.

Position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities but will serve as a resource among team of colleagues in equivalent roles to share technical proficiency, guidance, and mentorship.  May occasionally assist in delegation of assignments or provide feedback to managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership on all health and welfare insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs in the creation of a benefits package that aligns with RRI goals and objectives
  • Responsible for the implementation and administration of all health and welfare insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs
  • Partners with broker(s) and Riverside Research leadership to continually evaluate our benefits offerings, assess their relevance and effectiveness, investigate new offerings and participates in decision-making process and selection of benefit programs
  • Leads all benefits related initiatives, include annual enrollment with the support of the larger HR organization
  • Lead in the development of effective benefit communication strategies and materials and issue them in a timely, well-organized manner
  • Foster a wellbeing culture by creating and maintaining a companywide wellness strategy
  • Ensures compliance with laws and regulations applicable to employee benefit programs including but not limited to COBRA, ERISA, HIPPA, ACA, FMLA. Leads all audits related to employee benefits.  Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree (or additional 2 years of related experience or relevant certifications)
  • Eight (8) years focused employee benefits experience, with three (3) years at a manager level
  • Mastery of knowledge in benefits administration, compliance, and related laws and regulations, as well as the ability to research and apply new information
  • Demonstrated success in establishing strong working relationships with organizational leadership and establishing self as a trusted advisor
  • Proactive, customer-focused approach to job responsibilities with a genuine passion for supporting the Riverside Research workforce
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners, both orally and in writing, as well as the ability to present complex information to all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Proficiency in the utilization of HRIS systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel to other Riverside Research locations, up to 10% annually

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of organizational business operations, specifically in the government contracting industry
