Clinical Operations

Performs all duties of the ED/MedSurg Staff RN position
- Serves as a clinical and operational resource for nursing staff
- Supports patient throughput, admissions, transfers, and coordination of care
- Collaborates with providers, ancillary departments, EMS partners, and leadership to optimize patient care delivery
- Collaborates with the Nurse Manager to optimize staffing by assisting with monthly schedule development, coordinating sick call coverage, and proactively addressing staffing needs to maintain safe patient care and team support.

Supports department readiness initiatives including huddles, stocking, equipment checks, downtime preparedness, and environmental organization
- Assists with identifying, escalating, and following up on equipment, facility, IT, or workflow issues
- Participates in maintaining survey and regulatory readiness

Assists with onboarding, orientation, competency validation, and education initiatives
- Serves as a mentor and resource for nursing staff
- Reinforces departmental workflows and standards

Participates in departmental quality improvement initiatives, audits, and process improvement work
- Assists with data collection, documentation review, and follow-up related to departmental goals and regulatory measures
- Supports initiatives related to stroke, sepsis, trauma, patient safety, and organizational priorities

Promotes effective communication between shifts and departments

Serves as a liaison between frontline staff and department leadership

Assists with dissemination and reinforcement of departmental updates and workflow changes

Minimum Education/Experience
Associate's Degree Graduation from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing. The nurse shall have completed a nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty.
