Salary range: $3,459 - $4,237 bi-monthly
FLSA Status: Exempt, salaried

POSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, responsible for overseeing administrative functions of the Human Resources department to include benefits and leave administration, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, performance management, disciplinary actions and a variety of other administrative tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department.

(1) Assist the HR Director in executing HR initiatives (compensation and classification, training and development, employee handbook, policies and procedures).
(2) Provide support to HR Director when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions or issues arise; provide counseling on performance concerns, participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and workplace investigations as assigned, ensure polices are applied consistently.
(3) Oversee unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, safety and risk management, benefits, leaves of absence, and performance evaluation programs.
(4) Provide supervision to HR Specialist–Benefits and HR Coordinator; support and assign daily tasks to ensure work is completed in a timely manner; provide timely and effective communication regarding work performance/duties; review and approve timecards and approve leave requests for assigned staff.
(5) Ensure job descriptions are up to date and accurately portray the position.
(6) Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
(7) Processes employment verifications and Colorado Open Records Act requests.
(8) Maintain organizational charts, personnel files and HRIS system; conduct periodic internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance; ensure HR related documents are being retained/destroyed in accordance with record retention guidelines.
(9) Assist HR Director with HR related analytics and make actionable recommendations based on data.
(10) Monitor and respond to HR department general email account inquiries.
(11) Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices and regulatory changes in human resources to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
(12) Act as back up to other HR Department positions as needed.
(13) Attend and participate in meetings and training.

Knowledge of: human resources practices and procedures; federal, state and local laws as they pertain to Human Resources; benefits administration, FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims; principles of workplace investigations; principles of performance management and discipline; supervisory principles and methods; general office equipment; Microsoft products; HRIS systems.
Skilled in: use of basic computer software programs; understanding and applying pertinent laws, rules, regulations and policies; using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; maintaining confidentiality; problem solving and conflict resolution; organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines and following up on assignments with minimum direction and supervision; applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; understan
