Scrub Assistant, Full Time, Days

Overview

Job Summary:

Additionally, under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and the Endoscopy physician, the scrub tech I performs various duties to assist in the care of Endoscopy patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.  These duties include, but are not limited to, assisting Endoscopy physicians with procedures, supply ordering, case scheduling, scope management, cleaning and reprocessing of Endoscopes and Bronchoscopes, preparing equipment and supplies for Endoscopy procedures, ambulation assistance, measuring vital signs and blood glucose, and transporting.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

       

      1. Assist physicians with Endoscopy procedures

Prepare equipment and supplies for Endoscopy procedures

Cleaning, disinfecting and storage of Endoscopes and Bronchoscopes

Report patient changes, problems, complaints or requests to appropriate personnel

Assist in specimen collection, labeling, ordering and transport

Knowledge and proper use of Endoscopy equipment and supplies

      7.  Knowledge, understanding and application of Endoscopy Infection Control Standards 

Qualifications

Education:  High school graduate or GED. BLS required.

 

Experience: No previous experience required
