Senior Software Developer

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer Technical Specialist candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The candidate will be responsible for programming in a variety of coding languages, and have been exposed to front or backend technologies.  The candidate must be familiar with the software development process and adhere to standards and best-practices.  From the inception of a particular functionality via a request from the customer, to the formal quality testing and customer training for the final product, the Software Engineer will see a project through from start to finish. 

 

The candidate will work the project through the process from developing software requirements to implementation to testing and debugging to get the final product.  Once the final product has been completed, create support and troubleshooting documentation and lead training sessions for the customer. 

 

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Required Qualifications: 

 

*Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD - 4 years of experience my be considered in lieu of a degree.

• 5+ years of .NET software development experience
• 2+ years of experience with ARCHIBUS
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Must have a working knowledge of SQL Server, Apache Tomcat, JavaScript
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
• Ability to anticipate problems & take decisive action

Desired Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of knowledge in Splunk, appDynamics, Cloud and parallel computing, JavaScript, Node.JS, HTML, Database, XML
• Experience with Agile Methodology
• Experience with HTML, CSS, D3, JavaScript Frameworks (such as Angular, Vue, React and/or similar libraries)
• Knowledge of popular programming frameworks (OSS and/or .NET)
• Knowledge of modern DevOps toolsets (Git, Azure DevOps)
• Experience developing, deploying, and managing distributed applications on cloud platforms
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Unix, Linux and/or Windows operating
• Storage and file systems experience is a plus

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
