Our Whole Care Program was chosen as one of Washington’s first Health Engagement Hubs, providing harm reduction, primary care, behavioral health, and social services to people who use drugs.
As part of this interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with local partners to ensure seamless, barrier-free access to care. You'll play a key role in guiding patients through the health system and connecting them with vital resources to support their well-being.
Position Summary:
Responsible for back-office functions including patient preparation, Support of health care providers, laboratory procedures and clinic operations in a matter that promotes quality patient care. Create barrier-free access to fully integrated care in a warm and comfortable space. Provide customizes experiences for patients who face complex medical, behavioral, and social situations. Serves as an example of excellent customer service to patients. Act as liaison between front office and provider for ensuring timely and orderly patient flow.
Typically day: There are 2 Medical Assistant Coordinator for the Whole Health Program. One starts an hour early to prep, open rooms, collective medical for all patients, review who was in the ED, provide update to provider, huddles in the morning with doctor and team, rooming, in box that is managed by team, front office staff will bring patient to back instead of MA-Coord going to the front to call for patient. Report of end or week and month. Tracking various experience for grant. If other floors are short staffed, MA Coord for Whole Program will be pulled to support other floors.
Ratio is 1:1, 2 providers, on the floor, rooming, and the other with do admin and rotate, 1 hour long appointments; appointment are walk in and also support walk ins.
Caring and want to make a difference, help the individuals to get back to where they once were and willing to help others; comfortable doing injections.
At the Auburn clinic MAs across all floors are part of one MA team. We are connected. Support each other of each floor. If a MA-Coord is our of the office a Medical Assistant will help cover.
Compensation is dependent on skills and experience.
Your contribution to the team includes:
Administrative Duties:
- Coordinate daily Medical Assistant assignments to ensure efficient back-office operations and completion of required duties.
- Address back-office situations that require immediate attention in the absence of the Health Center Manager.
- Facilitate ordering of back-office supplies including pharmaceutical, medical supplies, laboratory supplies and patient education materials according to HealthPoint procedures and timetables.
- Facilitate communications among the Medical Assistant staff regarding procedures, changes, clarifications, and distribution of pertinent materials.
- Coordinate patient tracking including, but not limited to, pap smears, immunizations, and laboratory.
- Facilitate Medical Assistant small group meetings as needed.
- Assist the Health Center Manager and Lab/Clinical Support Supervisor with new employee orientation and on-going training of Medical Assistants.
Clinic Duties:
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, laboratory area and lavatory with supplies before the start of the day, at the end of the day and as needed throughout the day.
- Room and prepare patients for exams including chief complaint and vital signs and request reports needed for patient care.
