Senior Software Engineer

This role requires working closely with the Research &amp; Development team to translate requirements into highly effective scanning solutions. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with vulnerability scanning tools, deployment using Kubernetes, and expert-level proficiency in Python, with additional experience in Golang. A deep understanding of network protocols, attack vectors, and internet architecture is essential.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>System Development:</strong> Implement and enhance the vulnerability scanning system by taking R&amp;D team requirements and turning them into scalable and robust solutions.</li> <li><strong>Tool Optimization:</strong> Leverage and develop vulnerability scanning tools, ensuring they are optimized for performance and accuracy at scale.</li> <li><strong>Kubernetes Deployment:</strong> Understanding of containerized software development and container orchestration.</li> <li><strong>Workflow Automation:</strong> Develop workflow-based automation to enhance the efficiency of scanning operations, optimizing for speed and reliability.</li> <li><strong>Network and Protocol Expertise:</strong> Apply a deep understanding of network protocols, attack vectors, and internet architecture to improve scanning effectiveness and coverage.</li> <li><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the R&amp;D team, to integrate new features and improve the scanning infrastructure.</li> <li><strong>Code Development:</strong> Write high-quality, maintainable code in Python and Golang to develop, integrate, and enhance scanning tools and infrastructure.</li> <li><strong>Performance Tuning:</strong> Work with Site Reliability Team to continuously monitor and fine-tune the scanning system to ensure high performance and low false-positive/false-negative rates.</li> <li><strong>Documentation:</strong> Produce and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for code, tools, and deployment procedures.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on cybersecurity or network-related development.</li> <li>Extensive experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., NMap, ZMap, Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Nuclei) and their development or integration at scale.</li> <li>Expert-level proficien</li> <li>cy in Python, with additional experience in Golang.</li> <li>Strong experience with Kubernetes for containerized deployment and orchestration.</li> <li>Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.), attack vectors, and internet architecture.</li> <li>Experience with workflow-based automation, enhancing scanning and security processes.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in a distributed team environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in internet-scale scanning and discovery.</li> <li>Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis.</li> <li>Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD, container orchestration, monitoring).</li> <li>Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for deployment and scaling</li> </ul><p><strong>Why should you join Recorded Future?<br/></strong>Recorded Future employees (or “Futurists”), represent over 40 nationalities and embody our core values of having high standards, practicing inclusion, and acting ethically.
