The Team
Fraud sits within the Compliance Department, which is responsible for managing a wide variety of fraud and compliance matters for the company.
The Role
The Sr. Fraud Analyst is an integral role that will support fraud detection and fraud escalation. The Sr. Fraud Analyst sits within the Compliance Department and reports to the Compliance Manager. The Sr. Fraud Analyst will be responsible for reviewing loan level fraud escalations and investigations. Additionally, the Sr. Fraud Analyst will prepare and present fraud statistics, document fraud processes, assist with process automation, and provide annual and ad hoc fraud training. The Sr. Fraud Analyst may also assist with regulatory audits and inquiries and customer complaint investigations.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional partners, including Sales and Operations, to investigate loan level fraud escalations
- Provide recommendations on potential fraud incidents, including whether to proceed with the funding of the loan
- Complete fraud reporting for committee meetings and ad hoc requests
- Monitor monthly fraud statistics and identify monthly and quarterly fraud trends
- Recommend changes to the control environment and fraud prevention strategies based off of fraud trends
- Document reports to regulatory agencies, as necessary
- Assist with fulfilling requests for external audits
- Lead the development and deployment of annual and ad hoc fraud training
- Maintain existing fraud policies and procedures and draft new policies and procedures as necessary
- Assist with the customer complaint investigation process
- Manage the company’s internal fraud lists
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years of fraud management experience
- Mortgage experience a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of laws and regulations including HMDA, ECOA, FCRA, and BSA/AML preferred
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with cross functional partners
- Ability to draft written summaries clearly synthesizing recommendations
- Thrives in a constantly-evolving & fast-moving environment
- Ability to handle large volume of emails on a regular basis
- Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems
Kiavi takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. The expected annualized base pay range for this full-time role to be performed remotely is $82,000 to $120,000 base + 5% bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
