We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineering Program Manager to join the team. As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for engineer with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Lead a virtual team of functional leads including members from hardware and software engineering, sourcing, supply chain, networking and datacenter operations for documenting a clear Plan-of-Record (POR) for the new product development and leading the project team to meet stated milestones
- Technical Program Management for new Cloud hardware development. Drive the development, planning & execution of a holistic cross functional product development and/or launch strategy. Provides technical leadership and identify technical risks.
- Collaborate with internal and external technology development partners to form a cohesive development plan.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the product technical requirements, milestones, deliverables and interdependencies for establishing an accurate and effective project infrastructure. Leverage experience and engineering skills to solve problems, fill gaps and achieve objectives through a cross functional team.
- Responsible for effective communication and escalation of risks and dependencies while ensuring timely decisions are being made.
- Hold accountability for team and most or all portions of the work to deliver best in class architecture solutions
- Conducts risk management efforts in new product introduction, scenario planning and mitigation of risks, recovery from risks.
- Communicate to and regularly interact with management, highlighting risks across functional teams and providing recommendations to support product level decisions
- Operate effectively in ambiguity. Apply process where it creates value, and design process where it’s needed. Recognize the situations where each approach is most appropriate.
- Ensure cross functional alignment: generating clarity, tracking towards development milestones and overall readiness for all new Data Center infrastructure development, launch, and deployments.
