Your Impact:
The National Level 4 Lead Telecom Technician (Data Center, Inside Plant, and Central Office) will provide detailed installation, re-configuration/integration, removal, and maintenance of Central Office and Data Center equipment which includes Transmission, Power, Infrastructure and Fiber systems with minimum supervision. This role will require supervision of assigned crew members and their performance.
Core Responsibilities:
- Must have mastered all installation skills per Telco Standard TP76300 and be able to perform all the duties of the Installer Level 4 with a high degree of competence and accuracy.
- Mastered comprehensive equipment installation skills on a wide variety of installations and systems including AC/DC Power systems, low/high-density fiber systems, Central Office Infrastructure, and supervisory /alarm systems.
- Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures. DC Power cabling experience (hot work in BDFB highly desirable), cable testing (fiber, copper, coax) experience, prior experience successfully leading installations, read and follow Method of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation. Familiarity with the Telcordia and TP76300 installation standards. Responsible for the accuracy of all documentation as required.
- Ability to interface with customers, vendors, and other company employees in the completion of, testing of, and turning up of equipment. Turn up and Integration system testing skills required.
- Ability to supervise lower-level Installers/Technicians in basic installation and testing requirements.
- Elevated level of understanding of all company policies and practices, safety procedures, paperwork, and administrative requirements. Will review subordinate's time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Comply with system update requirements of all company/customer installation documents.
- Ability to resolve any project related issues utilizing defined processes.
- Read, understand, and apply job/equipment specifications, installation documents, schematics, and test records. Demonstrated proficiency in generating MOP’s, High-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports.
- Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure all items meet or exceed industry and/or customer standards.

- Perform job start walk throughs with Customers and End Users
- Circuit modifications
- Software adds or upgrades
- DC Power greenfield and transition work
- Addition or removal of batteries
- Addition or removal of circuits on working power distribution sources
- Equipment testing and turn-up
- Overseeing volatile work activities
- Job-site supervision of subcontractor work
- Additions, modifications, or removals to Power Boards and BDFBs, UPS
- Additions, modifications, or removals of Data and Cloud equipment
- Addition or removal of common systems equipment/hardware
- Addition or removal of wiring and connections (on non- working equipment only)
- Analysis of job specifications and drawings
- Provide work assignments to crew
- Resolve job specification and/or drawing issues
- Correct office record drawings
- In-process and final quality inspections
- Able to communicate with customer on all aspects of the job throughout the duration of the project

- Minimum 8+ years installation experience or combination of experience and training as determined by company management. Prior leadership experiences required.
