Opportunity

The EHS Coordinator plays a key role in providing EHS support to our Production Facilities across the U.S as well as the EHS Department. The EHS Coordinator will put into practice EHS programs in compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations as well as Avery Dennison corporate policies.  The incumbent will assist management in establishing site safety teams and aid in achievement of all EHS performance objectives.  The EHS Coordinator will effectively coordinate shift/team safety & environmental activities, programs and processes in a manner consistent with role expectations and ensure regular adherence to standards while promoting a safe, clean and productive workplace. Career growth opportunities will be available across both Vestcom and Avery Dennison. This role will be 1st Shift, 9:00am - 5:30pm, M - F.

►   Key Areas of Responsibility

Activities and duties will vary depending upon the functional area assigned.  Activities may include all or some of the following, a combination of the following, but are not limited to: 

  • Assists with completing EHS program or project tasks or activities from inception to completion.

  • Collect data and report for compliance with Local, Federal, and State laws.

  • Assist plant management to ensure that all departments comply with applicable regulations

  • related to storage and disposal of industrial waste.

  • Be the point person for daily EHS issues.

  • Interface with EHS personnel at other Avery Dennison facilities to exchange ideas/information and to ensure consistent high-quality response to EHS Issues.

  • Coordinate and administer plant-wide waste and energy reduction plans.

  • Train employees on Safety, investigate accidents, and audit 5S system.

  • Evaluate and respond to all emergency situations.

  • Ensure team members receive all required environmental and safety training as scheduled.

  • Actively engage employees on the importance/benefits of working carefully.

  • Plan and facilitate team EHS meetings.

  • Maintain and share records and statistics.

  • Understand and fulfill knowledge of MSDS and basic EHS requirements.

  • Act as liaison between teams, shifts, and facility EHS lead.

Qualifications

►   Key Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 0 - 2 years experience with EHS.

  • Experience dealing with regulatory authorities.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to EHS.

  • Good multitasking skills.
