Position Summary:

Sands Capital is seeking a motivated Corporate Accountant to support our Accounting and Finance team with general accounting tasks, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working on a variety of tasks, including monthly financial reporting, general ledger close processes, providing financial and business analysis, and assisting with cash management processes. 

Work Expectations:

This role is expected to work from our Arlington, Virginia office (HQ) on a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week in-office (specifically, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) or as directed by your manager, depending on the role and team needs. Please know that the hybrid schedule is subject to change, as directed by our Executive Management Team, at any time.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assisting with monthly financial reporting and general ledger close process for LLC (GAAP and cash basis) and LP (cash basis) including year-end audited financial statements;
• Assisting with the preparation of income tax basis financial statements for audit;
• Providing financial and business analysis, including building and maintaining reports in financial software and application of cost based accounting;
• Maintaining financial accounting software, including testing software enhancements, troubleshooting, updating process documentation and implementing process improvements;
• Assisting with the preparation of state and federal tax filings;
• Assisting with providing support to external auditors to ensure compliance;
• Recording, reconciling, and analyzing monthly activity in various balance sheet and income statement accounts;
• Assisting with cash management processes, including processing payments, monitoring of cash controls, fraud prevention and cash position analysis;
• Assisting with identification and implementation of process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and BI reports and dashboards;
• Performing other position responsibilities and ad-hoc duties, as needed; and

Position Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
• Ability to accurately analyze and apply US GAAP, income tax basis and cash basis financial reports;
• Expert knowledge of Excel, ERP and Accounting Systems and experience with BI reporting tools;
• Self-motivated with analytical mindset, good communication, organization, prioritization and time management skills while handling multiple ongoing projects and deadlines;
• 2+ years of Accounting/Finance experience preferred;
• CPA Candidate, or working to sit for CPA exam, preferred; and
• Experience with Oracle Fusion financials preferred.
