Job Responsibilities:

Scope of Position

  • Oversees activities to root cause and countermeasure internal and external quality issues. Works with quality team members to ensure all activities supporting launches, engineering changes and continuous improvements activities are performed on time and technically correct.   Manages customer concerns and escalates based on impact to the organization to the General Manager for support when needed.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct Quality activities to ensure implementation of quality related APQP and GPMS tasks and activities in support of flawless launches, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement of the quality department effectiveness, mentoring of quality department team members and quality of products consistent with established standards with zero defect strategy.  Sr. Quality Engineer is a mentor and coach to the quality team to ensure each team members success.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 years’ experience in an automotive environment. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Quality. 
  • Must be a results-oriented team player, effective at problem solving and project planning/organizing, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high energy level and good attention to detail.
  • Must be a specialist in the following: GD&T, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, Supplier Qualification, interpretation of technical specifications, Quality Systems, Problem Solving, Calibration systems and Corrective and Preventative Action.
  • CQE, Engineering Degree mechanical or electrical

  • Understands and follows IATF16949.
  • Understands and follow Mafact and MQS requirements.
  • Audits, tracks and drives continuous improvements and corrective actions to improve supplier quality performance.
  • Updates and maintains all internal and external department KMI’s.
  • Maintains quality assurance objectives and metrics.
  • Maintains customer relationships, including scheduling of customer visits.
  • Supports Quality Engineers in the development of PPAP, FMEA, SPC, Gage R&R, Supplier qualification, Calibration systems and Corrective Action and Preventative Action.
  • Maintain documentation and records of Quality department functions.
  • Involvement in Advanced Product Quality Planning.
  • Investigate nonconformities and develop, initiate and verify corrective action.
  • Commitment to quality and a safe and healthful work environment for all employees.
  • Assist the organization in implementation of Mafact, including lean, standardized work and continuous improvement activities.
  • Attends and participates in the Fast Response, Mafact, Departmental meetings.
  • Responsible to understand and able to problem solve following MPTSHB standard problem- solving process.
