We are looking for a Natural Resources & Construction Executive Underwriter based in Miami. 

 

Your Team 

You’ll be part of a dedicated insurance team serving LATAM in the Natural Resources & Construction sectors.  Allianz Commercial provides flexible and tailored solutions to the most demanding insurance challenges.  The ideal candidate will have experience in both areas including the following segments part of the business scope:  

 

• Renewables (Solar PV, Wind and BESS, both builders risk as well as Operational PD/BI);  

• Conventional power generation and distribution and other renewables (Operational PD/BI, except Nuclear hot zone and stand-alone coal fired power plants); and   

• Mining (Operational PD/BI, excluding coal). 

• Underwriting large construction property accounts such as: builder’s risk, construction all risks (CAR), erection all risks (EAR), and civil construction/civil works 

 

The Impact You Will Have 

Reporting to The Regional Managing Director LATAM, you will join the team as an Executive Underwriter in the Natural Resources & Construction sectors.  You’ll bring your established relationships with brokers and insureds to successfully underwrite profitable new and renewal business fitting within the unit risk appetite (reinsurance only and for any activities outside of the US must make referrals to the appropriate party). 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

• Underwriting new and renewal business including negotiating price and terms and conditions with our broker partners while proactively managing capacity, risk appetite and profitability. 

• Driving marketing initiatives and building strong, collaborative relationships with our brokers by providing excellent customer service, technical knowledge and support. 

• Developing creative solutions to our client’s problems by collaborating with our Risk Consultants, Product Development and Claims.  

• Driving and participating in key projects around the business which impact results. 

• Assisting in developing team members and act as referral point for senior underwriters. 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

• 7+ years of experience in Natural Resources & Construction underwriting; 

• Ability to build and foster relationships internally across the organization and externally with our broker partners;
