Supplier Quality - Manager

Title: Supplier Quality – Manager (Constellium Automotive USA, LLC in Van Buren, MI)

 

Duties:

 

•              Approving and reviewing the problem-solving approaches of Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure proper investigation and analysis and resolution of quality problems of supply base

•              Manage and devise company strategy and training for conducting supplier audits, reviewing supplier processes, and analyzing defect trends of supply base

 Reviewing, approving and presenting supplier continuous improvement projects for Constellium’s aluminum production process to ASNA Leadership Team

•              Staff, training develop and manage Supplier Quality Engineers and Co-Ops / Interns

•              Evaluate supplier systems and processes and applications to Constellium and Customer Quality Requirements. Review and implement effective Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) at Constellium ASNA supply base.

•              Upon escalation from Supplier Quality Engineer(s), manage problem resolution teams and be primary interface to Constellium’s suppliers of raw components on quality and reliability issues. Determine product’s return process for non-compliance and quality and reliability issues. Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems.

•              Lead supplier performance improvement projects for scorecard management in an effort to increase overall supplier capability to meet Constellium requirements.

•              Drive production process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement to the production process by conducting supplier audits.

•              Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier’s technical teams

•              Work with the product program teams to ensure that raw components meet the customers’ product launch requirements (product to include various vehicle parts manufactured by Constellium). Work with the internal cross-functional leadership team to establish, keep track of, and meet customer PPAP requirements.

•              Understand and support production and PPAP documentation, production process capability, and tools and gauges requirements that support PPAP for each part that is manufactured.

 

Requirements: Master’s degree in industrial/manufacturing engineering or closely related plus 4 years of experience as quality engineer in the Plastic Injection Molding Automotive Industry including 1 year of experience in management and development of supply base for monitoring their quality of Manufacturing/Sub-assembly and Extrusion of Aluminum Structures. Certified IATF:16949 Supplier Auditor and certified AIAG IATF:16949 Lead Auditor. Certified training in Advanced Product Quality Planning, Project Management, and AIAG IMDS Basic Concepts & Application.
