Description
The Bridgewater Club is currently seeking an experienced Head Swim Team Coach, coaching children ages 5 to 14. We offer a fun work environment, competitive pay, flexible schedule, and employee incentives. This is a part-time position.

Approximate 2024-2025 Upcoming Seasons:
Fall 2024: October 28 - December 18
Winter 2025: January 6 - February 19
Spring 2025: February 24 - April 23
Summer 2025 Season: May 19 - July 16
Fall, Winter and Spring practices fall on Monday and Wednesday's 5:00pm - 7:30pm
One swim meet per season (usually on a Tuesday or Thursday).
Summer Practices are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8:00am-10:30am
Summer season - 4 swim meets plus a conference meet. Meets take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30-7:30pm approx.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, enthusiastic, loves children, and has a strong member-service background. We are looking for applicants who can work weekday evenings in the off-season and mornings during the summer season. Other days and times will be required to complete necessary administrative work year-round.
*** Preferred start date for Fall season: Week of October 7 or 14. We will have a flexible training schedule for the new coach.
Head Swim Team Coach Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate and interact with participants and parents in a professional and positive manner.
- Must have experience working with children and creating a positive environment.
- Must be personable, upbeat, enthusiastic, fun, and good with people of all ages & abilities.
- Must have strong organization and time management skills.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Must be punctual.
- Must be reliable and a team player.
- Must be able to communicate professionally with coworkers and management.
- USA Swimming Coach certified (preferred but not mandatory).
- Head Swim Coach - minimum 2 years required coaching and 4 years competitive swimming experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to coach proper swimming techniques in a safe, positive and healthy manner to a various levels and age groups.
- Observe, asses and evaluate swimmers on a daily basis to ensure swimmers demonstrate progress each season.
- Prepare weekly practices the week prior to the actual team practice.
- Run an organized and well planned practice each week.
- Prepare for and run organized and well planned swim meets year-round.
- Engage participants in fun dynamic practices.
- Responsible for set-up and clean-up, before and after practices and meets.
- Present proper demonstrations and explain skills using The Bridgewater Barracuda terminology to analyze and correct performance.
- Attend staff and training meetings as required per Fitness Operations Director.
- Maintain the swim team website year-round.
- Communicate with parents on a weekly basis, regarding practices, meets, events, changes in schedules, deadlines, etc.
- Marketing and promoting the swim team to increase participation each season.
- Attend all meetings and communicate with the other teams within the swim team conference.
- Organize and take the lead on our annual "Splashtacular" summer swim team kick-off.
- Prepare coaches, swimmers and parents for the summer conference swim meet.
- Organize and take the lead on the end of season summer swim team banquet.

- Summer Swim meets | Tuesday and Thursday Evenings
- Conference Meet | Summer season | Mid-July-Date TBD
