Senior Accountant – Job Description

Summary:

360 Fire & Flood is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and will play a key role assisting with all accounting and finance related duties. This role will have significant growth opportunities as 360 Fire & Flood continues to expand nationally. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with prior public accounting or construction accounting experience, has exceptional attention to detail and excels in a fast-paced work environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Facilitating the month-end closing process, including preparing adjusting entries and reconciling accounts

·       Performing detailed analysis of accounts, identifying discrepancies, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy.

·       Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

·       Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

·       Collaborating with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits. 

·       Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.

·       Taking ownership of specific accounting projects and initiatives.

·       Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as needed, by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.

·       Maintain job financial data in Job Management software (Proven Jobs) to ensure accurate WIP reporting.

·       Maintaining and improving internal controls to protect company assets and prevent fraud. 

·       Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

·       Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.

·       Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

 

Qualifications:

·       3+ years of experience in accounting or related field. Public accounting experience, preferred.

·       Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, preferred.

·       Prior experience in a construction or building restoration company is preferred.

·       Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

·       Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
