309Job Description
The Food Service Retail Manager is responsible for all of the daily operations of the cafeteria and catering services. The Manager directs staff to make sure the customers are satisfied with their dining experience and to ensure that employees are following organization’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
Hires, trains, oversees and delivers correction actions and terminations when needed.
Collaborates with Chef to order food, beverage, equipment and other supplies.
Plans retail menus cycles and prices all items.
Oversees retail food preparation, portion sizes and overall presentation of food.
Regularly inspects supplies, equipment and work areas and takes steps to ensure all is adequate.
Ensure employees comply with health and food safety standards.
Ensures all employees and supervisors are being held accountable for all daily tasks and performances.
Ensures yearly performance evaluations are given to all employees.
Addresses complaints regarding food quality or service.
Approves schedules and works with scheduling team to ensure coverage of all shifts.
Works within food and labor budget guidelines as dictated by the Director.
Establishes and maintains standards for personnel performances and customer service.
Maintains daily production records for all stations.
Produces all necessary month end reports needed
Directs the cleaning of all stations and ensures Master Cleaning List is being completed.
Ensure cash handling policies are being followed according to organization’s procedures.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
(2) years of experience hospitality/food services - Food Service Manager or Supervisor position required.
Certification & Licensures
Serv Safe certification is required within 6 months of employment.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Attention to details required.
Ability to mentor and lead staff required.
