Position location: San Diego, CA, onsite
The Extrahepatic siRNA Targeting group is looking for a highly motivated and talented cell biologist with strong expertise in cell biology and functional genomics. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of cell surface receptor biology, endocytosis and recycling to cell surface. You will be responsible for investigating mechanistic aspects of in vivo siRNA delivery by cell surface receptors and their cognate ligands
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Candidates should have extensive experience in the area of cell surface receptor in vivo biology with focus on receptor endocytosis and recycling
Candidates should have leadership or managerial experience
Prior experience with drug discovery is a plus
Lead and participate in research efforts to build mechanistic understanding of extrahepatic siRNA delivery by novel cell surface receptors and their cognate ligands
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in relevant assay technologies
Initiate, lead and contribute to interdisciplinary research programs in a highly collaborative and matrixed manner across internal groups and with external partners
Concise/accurate review and interpretation of technical data
Present scientific and technical work
Contribute to maintaining a safe laboratory environment and quality work practices
Other related duties as assigned
Minimum requirements:
PhD in cell biology or related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in industry. Candidates in academic staff/faculty positions (i.e. Assistant Professor, Director of Research, etc.) are also encouraged to apply
Extensive knowledge and hands on experience of mammalian receptor biology
Experience with diverse cell biology methods including immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, etc.
Ability to function in cross-functional teams, overcome challenges, develop and implement effective strategies and quickly adapt to new responsibilities
Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent communication, both written and verbal
Strong publication and external presentation record is preferred

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $114,100 to $211,900
