About the role

School of the Incarnation is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time resource teacher for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. This teacher is part of the St. Ignatius Program (SIP) and would be responsible for using MAP data to identify areas of need, plan and provide intervention to students in grades 3-5 in small group settings. As part of SIP, this teacher is also a member of the Student Support Team and would act as a case manager for individual students within the program. This teacher is also expected to foster a faith-filled, Catholic learning environment which recognizes the dignity of each person while having the skill and expertise to align, plan and implement instruction according to the Archdiocesan curriculum.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines and student needs
  • Provide appropriate instruction and support to students in the resource program through both pull out and push in programs.
  • Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, support and engage students
  • Collaborate with regular content area teachers in planning instruction and support
  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all time using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols.
  • Establish reasonable standards for student achievement, updating electronic gradebook frequently
  • Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner
  • Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, school committees and in-service learning opportunities
  • Serve as a liaison and resource for parents in navigating processes with both public and private service providers
  • Serve as a member of the Student Support Team
  • Participate in the active supervision of students at all times to include arrival/dismissal, car line, recess, Cafeteria, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administration
  • Integrate iPad and Smartboard technology effectively into instruction

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education or equivalent.
  • Current MSDE certification
  • Minimum of three years of experience teaching in resource/special education setting
  • Experience in a Catholic School setting is preferred
  • Must be comfortable with technology to include GSuite, Google
  • Classroom, Smartboards, etc.
  • Must have a commitment to Catholic School education
