🧑🏻‍💻 About the role

First things first: you want to know what you’re actually applying for. It’s impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distil it down to a job description (which we do because this is a job description), it would be this:

As the Senior Frontend Engineer for our Design System, you'll own the development of our component library and design standards. You'll bridge design and engineering by creating reusable, accessible UI components that ensure consistency across Mews products. Collaborating with designers and engineers, you'll build scalable solutions, document best practices, and champion design system adoption while evolving our visual language to meet business and technical needs.

✅ Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive component library using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS approaches

  • Create accessible, responsive, and reusable UI components following Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

  • Establish and document design system standards, patterns, and best practices

  • Build and maintain tooling for design token management and component development

  • Collaborate with designers to translate visual designs into functional code

  • Implement automated testing strategies for components (unit, visual regression, accessibility)

  • Champion design system adoption across products and provide support to engineering teams

  • Optimize component performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility

  • Communicate progress, roadblocks, and technical decisions effectively to stakeholders and team members

  • Participate in code reviews and team rituals to maintain quality and share knowledge

🤝️ You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:

  • Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and modern CSS approaches

  • Systematic approach to building scalable and maintainable component architecture

  • Deep understanding of web accessibility standards and implementation techniques

  • Keen eye for visual detail and UI consistency

  • Effective communication in English

🎉 What’s in it for you?

Did you know that Mews was named the Best PMS of 2025—for the second year in a row—and has previously been recognized as the Best Place to Work in Hotel Tech for two consecutive years? Now you do!
