About the role
Description
Event Director, Bett USAA bit about us
We’re Hyve - organiser of the world’s fastest-growing and most forward-thinking B2B events. As the chosen event partner to many of the world’s leading companies, our platforms play a critical role in their strategies - helping them enter new markets, accelerate growth and connect with the people who matter most.
Our portfolio features some of the world’s leading events in sectors like ecommerce, healthcare, edtech, and fintech. We’re growing fast with an entrepreneurial culture that empowers big ideas and quick action, plus an ambitious acquisition strategy bringing exciting new events into our mix.
Alongside our market-leading events, we’re building tech and data-driven products that supercharge connections – from one-to-one meeting programs and curated table talks to year-round engagement platforms.
Whatever your role, you’ll join a global team redefining how industries connect, collaborate, and grow – working with some of the most talented people in the business.
Think that sounds good? Wait until our talent acquisition team tells you about the culture.
A bit about you
First things first: whatever your background, beliefs or ambitions, there’s a culture of belonging at Hyve — and everyone is welcome. The question isn’t where you’ve come from, but where you want to go.
You’ll thrive here if you’re curious, collaborative and not afraid to challenge convention. We look for people who take pride in what they do, who are excited by change and always moving forward. The kind of people who stay open, keep learning, and look for better ways to make an impact.
Our shared behaviours guide how we work: we dare to do things differently, own our work, embrace collaboration, stay true to ourselves and others, and remember that optimism wins.
If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.
A bit about the role
We are looking for an Event Director to lead the launch of Bett USA — from building the go-to-market plan to shaping a high-performing team and delivering a best-in-class event. In the initial phase, you’ll work closely with the Head of the Incubator, focusing on content, marketing, product and community while learning the commercial framework for a successful launch event. As the event matures, you’ll progressively take on greater commercial accountability, including sales, partnerships and P&L ownership, moving towards full leadership of the Bett USA portfolio. The ideal candidate is customer-centric, thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and has experience launching new events at scale and/or a deep understanding of the EdTech ecosystem.
As part of your job, you’ll:
Project & Team Management
• Act as a confident, hands-on leader who is equally comfortable executing and collaborating.
• Lead the project plan across marketing, content, product development, logistics, community engagement, and buyer acquisition.
• Work in an agile, customer-centric way — adapting weekly to feedback to ensure we deliver an exceptional experience.
• Lead event sprints that align the cross-functional team to key milestones.
Content, Product & Marketing Leadership
• Shape the content strategy and help define themes and narratives for Bett USA, in alignment with global Bett brand values.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute multi-channel campaigns to drive awareness and engagement.
• Oversee the design of our signature meetup programme and other community-driven activations.
• Partner with the global EdTech team to ensure brand consistency and leverage best practices from other Bett events.
Learning Commercial Foundations
• Partner closely with the sales and partnerships teams to understand revenue models, pipeline management and sponsorship structures.
• Contribute to product innovation, exploring new formats, pricing ideas and customer value propositions.
• Support the Head of the Incubator in monitoring budget performance and learning financial forecasting processes.
Commercial Ownership & Partnerships
• Take ownership of all event revenue streams (sponsorship, exhibition, hosted buyer and delegate).
• Lead the development of new sponsorship opportunities and partnership models with key associations, bodies and influencers.
• Oversee sales reporting and pipeline management, ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
P&L Management
• Gradually assume full responsibility for the event P&L, including accurate forecasting, cost management, and budget optimisation.
• Work with finance and leadership teams to ensure the event’s profitability and long-term sustainability.
