JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Division of Student Affairs at Penn State Abington seeks a dynamic and energetic individual to join our team. The Communications and Special Events Manager is a new and vital part of assisting the student affairs team execute annual events and programs while also serving as the unit expert on marketing and engagement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Event Planning and Logistics:
Coordinates space reservations and set ups in Live 25/collaborate w/Business Services.
Manages vendor communication and updates for events, including Police Services, Parking and Transportation and outside vendors.
Serves as a contract signatory
Manage Event Request approval in Engage and communication and messaging to students/advisors.
Facilitate contracts and vendors.
Identify and collaborate with campus partners and community agencies.
Administer space reservations/set ups/volunteer sign ups and other logistics.
Manage budget for events
Marketing and Public Relations
Division and unit branding
Social Media strategy
Promotional materials for annual programs
Manage and update division website
Miscellaneous:
Participates in committees and campus wide committees
Assists in the development and implementation of processes and procedures to create efficiencies with event planning and execution.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications: 1+ years related experience
Master’s Degree or higher Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
