Treasury Trade Operations Lead Specialist

Within FBT, the Group Treasury Operations and Liquidity Management team is leading a change in the way bp views, manages cash, and optimises short term / mid-term cash and long-term financing by leading liquidity processes and supporting Treasury leadership’s decision-making process.

The role of the Treasury Trade Operations team is to ensure that all treasury trades are matched and confirmed prior to cash settlement. Treasury trading (Financial Markets Trading - FMT) operate across 3 benches in Chicago, London and Singapore.

The Treasury Trade Operations Lead Specialist is accountable for dealing with all bp's treasury trading counterparties and to verify all trades match prior to cash settlement as part of back-office activities.

This role require an strong understanding of the various treasury trading instruments ( money markets , FX markets, etc…) and good communication skills to face all bp's  financial markets trading counterparties back office teams.

In this role, you will manage exceptions queues in the Treasury trading system (WallStreet FX) and manage the relationship with relevant internal and external counterparties to agree the trades.

You will work on highly critical daily cut-offs depending on the currencies and trading benches.

This must be performed prior to the daily cash positioning process to allow the Treasury traders to optimize bp's liquidity.

In this role You will:

  • Responsible for the accurate  and timely daily processing of all deal confirmations in the Treasury Management System ( Wallstreet FX) for a range of treasury trading financial products.
  • Daily review of Confirmations exceptions queues ( all financial products) for timely resolution:

automated confirmation matching manual confirmation matching"

  • Manage Collateral CSA (Credit Support Annex for derivatives) margins calculations and recording and confirmation in the system.
  • Manage daily FX netting balance confirmations for all three trading benches (Singapore/ London/ Chicago.
  • Manage the following on a daily basis: Futures margins confirmations; Tri Party Repos; Commercial Papers and Securities deal confirmations; system entries and confirmations of Interest rate/FX swaps deals; Money market loans confirmations; Bonds issuance (and related swaps and coupons) deal; deal confirmations process for any new products traded by FMT trading team
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and propose design changes.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues, managing priorities and resource requirements 
  • Manage complex trade confirmation cases individually 
  • Understands the importance of controls and the obligation to report control deficiencies such as fraud, potential for failure and failure of internal controls relevant to the Control Process. 

What You will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or another quantitative field experience
  • Fluency in English, other European languages could be an advantage
  • Minimum 3 years of e
