Position Purpose:
Will provide functional supervision of Image and Results Center (IRC) staff. Organizes and prioritizes daily activities and assigns duties to subordinate staff. Monitors daily tasks for efficiency and effectiveness, recommends schedule revisions as needed. IRC Coordinator facilitates the scheduling of new employee orientation, employee training and continuing education. Position is empowered by the Manager to coordinate the functional activities of the office staff. In collaboration with the Manager interviews, hires, orients, and provides performance feedback to the team.
Status Available: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional formal clerical and computer training desirable.
Experience:
- Three to five years progressively more responsible experience in a physician support setting. Two years' experience in a Radiology Department.
- Working knowledge of Radiology procedures protocols and processes.
- Knowledge of Windows based programs.
Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Problem solving skills and ability initiate creative solutions to problems.
- Effectively communicate with medical staff, departmental staff, physicians, other health providers and facilities.
What you will do:
- Provides functional supervision to IRC staff.
- Serves as a resource to other IRC staff, physicians and management team on technical matters related to the processing and documentation of film/report management.
- Orients and trains new IRC staff.
- Acts as liaison between Radiology department leadership staff and other departments as related to work processes.
- Demonstrates hands-on knowledge of procedures and processes unique to department; demonstrates ability to readily acquire new knowledge.
- Assists in the performance evaluation of IRC staff.
- Completes department staffing schedules in a manner consistent with established policies.
