General Description:
The Senior Director, Quality Excellence - as part of the BeiGene Quality Leadership Team (QLT) - will be responsible for guiding and leading the Quality organization on strategy, operational excellence, project management, GxP intelligence and communications. This role will lead a high performing and experienced team of experts, leaders and facilitators. While providing guidance, leadership, and expertise to the entire Global Quality organization, the team will own and lead key cross-functional and intra-functional programs and initiatives that contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the Global Quality function to enable business needs in the company. The position will have an important role in developing and guiding the QLT to a high performing level.
Essential Functions of the job:
Provide strategic and managerial leadership of operational excellence and strategic planning for the global BeiGene Quality organization, aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of continuous improvement concepts, training and programs for all GxPs
Develop and deliver training and personnel development programs to instill a culture of excellence across GxP and Quality Management (QMS) systems and processes
Drive an operational excellence culture across GxP Quality and Operations that minimizes process waste and repetition, minimizes and eliminates errors and maximizes user experience and process productivity
Use advanced tools to enable processes to swiftly identify problems and solutions
Establish operational excellence as a competitive advantage for BeiGene thru the adoption of Lean principles, standardization and simplification, thus enable science and data-driven decision making and process visibility and transparency
Manage key leaders responsible for keep BeiGene current with global GxPs and actively contributing to effective external industry organizations
Develop, implement and lead BeiGene’s Culture of Quality programs
Ensure core Project management capabilities in Quality
Ensure the Quality organization is communicating key updates and information to all stakeholders
Act as the clearing house point of contact for non-Quality functions for new initiatives
Manage and compile annual ESG (Environmental, Social and corporate Governance) contributions and reports for Quality
Collaborate and partner with other functional Strategy & Business Ops initiatives across BeiGene
Administrative support for department meetings and communications
Manage Quality’s financial resources, budgets, and other assets to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Managing a small team (up to 6 initially) of high performing improvement-driven professionals with a strategic mindset for continuous improvement
This position requires strong cross-cultural and international leadership experience to ensure high performance management, coaching and mentoring of BeiGene staff
Computer Skills:
Strong PC literacy
Experience with GxP QMS platforms, e.g. Veeva
Other Qualifications:
Minimum of 12 yrs experience in GxP pharma or biotech (or minimum 8 yrs with Masters or PhD)
Lean Six-Sigma certification required
Minimum 5 years’ experience with business strategy / financial acumen and Operational Excellence hands-on experience are highly advantageous to this role
Experience with manufacturing, supply chain or Quality preferable
Experience with global multi-national companies is highly desired, demonstrating ability to collaborate across functions, time zones and cultures, and in a matrixed environment
Advanced facilitation skills and change agent abilities, guiding clearly and convincingly through influence without authority
Deep analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a strong work ethic and good organizational, and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Cultural dexterity in work environments
Ability to effectively collaborate in a high-paced dynamic environment
