Job Description
As a valued contributor to our Human Capital Consulting team, you will consult and focus efforts on strategic planning and execution for Fannie Mae or business units within the organization. In this role, you will coordinate and engage in cross-functional strategic execution, as well as engage project teams and stakeholders to advance business initiatives.
This position will support our two lines of business including Single Family and Multifamily, and two of our internal functions including the Chief Administrative Office and the Marketing and Communications divisions.
We have one opening for this job and it can be worked on a Hybrid basis from our Washington, DC or Plano, TX office.

The Human Capital - Strategy - Principal role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management on implementing strategic goals and vision for business units and/or the enterprise.
- Guide management through strategy development, strategic plan formulation, and execution of business objectives.
- Research and consult with management on resources to support strategic goals and new initiatives.
- Collaborate with your team and internal partners on unit's talent activities and initiatives.
- Partner with management on process improvement opportunities, as well as the day-to-day operations including data analysis, talent strategy and management, governance, and negotiations. You may assist in implementing new processes and/or updating existing processes.
Qualifications
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences
- 8 years related HR functional and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to partner cross functionally in the delivery of key Human Resources strategies and programs, including change management.
- Exceptional relationship management and leadership coaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize consultative approaches to solve problems in partnership with leaders across the organization.
- Experience identifying and solving complex business problems and influencing others to be part of the solution, including analyzing data and presenting conclusions in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
- Continuous improvement, organizational design and change management skills.
- Influencing skills including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
- Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.
Desired Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Experience identifying and addressing workforce planning and management issues such as recruitment, retention, and training.
- Performance measurement skills including evaluating programs, evaluating vendors, and defining and measuring KPIs.
- Skilled in Excel.
- Skilled in Microsoft Teams.
