Key Responsibilities:
Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress and other in-house tools for end-to-end testing of web applications.
Test Planning: Collaborate with developers and QA team members to understand application requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
Bug Identification: Identify, document, and track software defects and issues, and work closely with the development team to resolve them.
Engage in Code Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs to ensure code quality and to align with industry standards.
Test Execution: Perform manual and automated testing to ensure application functionality, performance, and security.
Test Reporting: Generate and review test reports and provide insights and recommendations for improvements based on test results.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of test processes and methodologies and stay up to date with the latest testing tools and techniques.
Qualifications
Education:
Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Technical Skills: Familiarity with Cypress/Playwright/Selenium and JavaScript/Python for test automation. Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential.
Database Knowledge: Understanding database concepts and experience with SQL-based databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#.
Version Control: Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning and adapting.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate optimally in a team environment.
Project Experience: Proven experience through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships. Contributions to open-source projects or a personal portfolio are a plus.
Preferred:
Experience with Software Testing: Previous experience or coursework in Software development or testing projects.
Familiarity with Agile Methodologies: Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies is advantageous.
Interest in Emerging Technologies: Passion for learning about and working with new technologies and tools.
