The Teaching, Learning, & Community Engagement Department (TLCE) in the College of Education at Boise State University invites applications for the following position: Clinical faculty member, Curriculum and Instruction Generalist. Boise State University is a doctoral research university pioneering an innovative model that emphasizes rigorous research and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate students. TLCE is searching for dynamic faculty committed to preparing and supporting educators, while collaborating with colleagues. Based on experience, this position will be hired at either the Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor rank (Clinical Faculty - Policy 4490). This will be a temporary 9-month position, with an intended start in Fall 2025.
Position Overview
The Teaching, Learning, & Community Engagement Department (TLCE) in the College of Education at Boise State University is searching for a clinical faculty member with expertise and experience in developing current and future educators. Clinical faculty in our department are currently responsible for teaching, supervising teacher candidates, and providing service to the community. This is an in-person position based in Boise, Idaho. We are especially interested in faculty who are visionary and committed to innovative teaching practices, demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills, build positive relationships with students, are flexible and adaptable, have the ability to learn and use new technology, are willing to take initiative and are committed to achieving outcomes for students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree from an accredited institution in education or related field
- Evidence of teaching experience with preK-12 populations (minimum of 3 years experience in any educational setting)
- Content knowledge or expertise in educational foundations, instructional strategies, and/or classroom learning environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Terminal degree from an accredited institution in education or related field (terminal degree required for Clinical Assistant Professor rank)
- Evidence of teaching experience with preK-12 populations in U.S. settings
- Experience with pre-service supervision, mentoring, or coaching
- Experience leading professional learning opportunities for pre-service or in-service teachers and/or administrators
- Experience teaching coursework on the undergraduate and/or graduate levels at a post-secondary institution
- Capacity for or experience with the development and maintenance of community partnerships
Salary and Benefits
Clinical Instructor positions offer a starting salary of $54,000, and Clinical Assistant Professor positions start at $63,000.
