Overview
The Senior Manager is responsible for clinical oversight of their territory, including all managers and technicians in their specified territory, general maintenance of hospital credentialing, hospital contracting, surgeon satisfaction as well as case coverage on an as needed basis. All duties of a Territory Manager and Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring Technologist also fall under duties of a Senior Manager. Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development
- Teach managers and technologists how to partner with their MPOWER BD (MBR) representative to support territory growth.
- Research territory to identify target customers.
- Identify new surgeons moving into the territory.
- Share system-wide contract sites to promote growth by partnering with the MBR.
- Encourage participation in the clinical incentive plan to generate leads through warm introductions.
Case Coverage
- Ensure all cases are covered without exception.
- Refer to the Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Job Description for full details.
- Provide breaks for technologists during long days; use this time to review the OR scheduling board and connect with surgeons.
- Create and manage an on-call rotation for the territory.
- Maintain an updated list of all technologists and neurologists credentialed at each hospital, and communicate this clearly.
Staffing and Interviews
- Analyze growth and hiring needs through data review.
- Train Territory Managers to conduct first-round CNIM interviews; conduct second-round interviews for staff within your territory.
Scheduling
- Enter cases into USMON or verify accuracy of entries.
- Ensure required documentation is uploaded at the time of scheduling, including the Surgeon Rx form and completed face sheet (with insurance details).
- Confirm the following week’s schedule with offices.
- Assign technologists to cases based on hospital privileges.
Relationship Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, office staff, OR staff, and hospital administrators you are the face of the company in your territory.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with these stakeholders.
- Follow up with surgeons periodically to address needs or concerns.
- Identify and develop internal talent to drive optimal outcomes for individuals and the company.
Credentialing
- Communicate frequently with the credentialing coordinator about new facilities and growing needs.
- Support the credentialing coordinator to ensure timely credentialing of technologists and neurologists.
- Ensure credentialed readers and technologists are properly assigned at hospitals.
Hospital Contracting
- Partner with the Director of Contracting to establish new facility contracts.
- Provide weekly follow-ups on contract status.
- Ensure new contracts are entered into USMON and that technologists submit PORs at the end of surgery.
Supplies
Ensure technologists are placing supply orders accurately.
Monitor supply usage to prevent waste.
Hospital Payments
- Partner with the internal AP department to address hospitals withholding payments and provide support as needed.
Quality Assurance Management
Oversee companywide quality assurance processes, including process creation, implementation, and follow-through on weekly and quarterly cycles.
Ensure all quality assurance processes are consistently followed and standards are met.
Special Project Assignments
Lead assigned projects at the discretion of the Director or Senior Director.
Oversee the MPOWERHealth intern program.
Delegate territory work to Managers to improve efficiency, build their skillsets, and engage them in projects beyond territory management.
