POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Network Administrator is responsible for the administration, security, performance, and availability of the organization’s network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewall, SD-WAN, and cloud networking environments. This role performs advanced troubleshooting, monitors network health, manages patching and security compliance, and applies automation to improve operational efficiency. The position also serves as an escalation resource for technical support staff and collaborates with stakeholders to design and implement infrastructure solutions across corporate and branch office locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Administers, maintains, and supports enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and related connectivity services across corporate and branch office environments.
  2. Configures and maintains routing and switching infrastructure, including VLANs, subnetting, and dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP, to support network segmentation, performance, and redundancy.
  3. Deploys and supports SD-WAN technologies to optimize connectivity, performance, and failover across corporate and branch office locations.
  4. Performs advanced troubleshooting to identify and resolve network, server, performance, availability, and infrastructure-related issues.
  5. Supports and maintains network and related security technologies, including Cisco and Meraki network equipment, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Red Canary Managed Detection Response (MDR), Okta, and related security platforms.
  6. Configures and maintains firewall policies and rules, including NAT/PAT and IPSec VPN configurations, and administers centralized firewall management platforms such as Panorama.
  7. Administers cloud networking infrastructure, including Azure virtual networks, ExpressRoute and VPN gateway connections, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, ensuring secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud resources.
  8. Implements and maintains security controls, network access, and evaluation processes for infrastructure environments.
  9. Monitors network health and performance using established network monitoring and performance management tools, proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues, and implementing improvements as needed.
  10. Develops and maintains scripts and automation tools, such as PowerShell and Python, to streamline network configuration, monitoring, and reporting tasks.
  11. Responds to and helps mitigate vulnerabilities, CVEs, malware, and other security threats affecting network and related infrastructure systems.
  12. Manages patch and update deployment for network devices, servers, and related infrastructure systems to maintain security compliance and system stability.
  13. Supports adherence to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and other applicable security standards in the design and implementation of network controls.
  14. Collaborates with stakeholders to define technical requirements, design network solutions, and implement approved changes.
  15. Provides technical leadership and escalation support for complex network and infrastructure issues.
  16. Maintains accurate documentation for configurations, changes, troubleshooting procedures, operational support, and security standards.
  17. Participates in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and support activities.
  18. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Training and Experience.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four to six years of progressive IT experience, including significant experience in network administration, infrastructure support, server administration, and security-related operations.
  • Experience supporting network and infrastructure services, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VoIP.
