Key Responsibilities
- Set clear and challenging goals that allow skilled and empowered professionals to accomplish business objectives consistent with organization and portfolios’ strategies; cultivate high performing teams
- Make objective and effective decision; collaborate across the solid tumor leadership team, the US Medical Oncology matrix, and the US Oncology Commercialization organization
- Work closely with the US Medical Oncology Tumor Leads and Disease Area Head to drive excellence and support execution of Medical Strategies
- Collaborate with Commercial Leadership to integrate Field Medical plans
- Collaborate with all matrix partners to ensure flawless execution on post approval activities
- Participate in Field Medical Leaders Council to support and govern FM function company-wide
- Directly manage the regional Field Medical Directors who manage the field Scientific Engagement Partners (SEPs)
- Oversee all SEP activities including the identification of Thought Leaders with whom SEPs interact
- Measure Field Medical performance and impact, and communicate performance metric back to the organization
- Measure and assess the effectiveness of US Field Medical plans regularly, and make timely course correction
- Assess direction on appropriate activities for HCP segments, such as Scientific Experts, Clinical Practice Influencers, High Disease Burden clinicians, etc., and validates Thought Leader (TL) lists
- Communicate instruction to SEP team on appropriate, fair balanced scientific exchanges
- Ensure evaluation and communication of critical insights collected, and contribute to the adjustment of medical tactics
- Partner with WW training organization to identify SEP’s training needs on the science of BMS pipeline products and marketed medicines are understood and communicated properly externally.
- Ensure all required business processes (audits, CRM responsibilities, etc.) are completed
- Ensure adherence of team with all relevant company policies and procedures, GCP, compliance guidance, BMS Compliance Code of Conduct, relevant FDA regulations, and with legal and ethical standards
- Develops and manages oncology Field Medical budget
- Coach field medical team to ensure customer-facing objectives are met
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP)
- Experience leading a Field Medical team is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of and clinical experience in oncology strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience including expertise in Oncology Medical Affairs
- Familiar with all phases of drug development (clinical development, regulatory, product life cycle management)
- Knowledge of the healthcare landscape, US Healthcare System, and the pharmaceutical industry, including laws, regulations and guidelines developed by state and federal government bodies (i.e., FDA, OIG, PhRMA, OPDP, etc.)
- Launch expertise in Oncology drugs
- Strategic thinker with an enterprise mind
- Strong business acumen, and high emotional intelligence
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience in previous positions
- Excellence partnering, collaboration, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Excellence verbal & written communication skills (in English)
- Experience in change leadership
- Proven ability to build, develop, lead, and coach diverse and results-oriented high-performance teams
- Estimated 40% travel (US)
- This role is based in Princeton Pike, New Jersey
