Job Description

This position is for Staff Software Engineer in ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management which is part of IT Asset Management suite of apps which covers management of software, hardware, cloud, and enterprise assets. Enterprise Asset Management product provides a complete end to end solution for enterprises for managing lifecycle of their assets from onboarding, operations and end of life covering various functionalities like purchasing, inventory, maintenance, work management, shipping, contract, warranty coverages etc.

As a member of a highly energetic R&D scrum team, you would be working closely with product management, peers, cross teams, as well as customers and partners to convert the requirements and function asks into robust technical designs and high-quality product features. The role demands a highly active hands-on design and coding skills required for delivering product designs, enhancements, proof of concepts and maintenance releases for Asset management solutions.

Please Note: This position will include supporting our US Federal customers.

“This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening.  Due to Federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens or US Permanent Residents, holding a green card, will be considered.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
  • Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.
  • Design software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite
  • Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent
  • Experience and deep understanding of designing, modifying, and debugging large scale enterprise applications.
  • System Design and Database design experience is a must.
  • Experience in Java, java script, XML, RDBMS, SQL
  • Advanced knowledge experience working with relational databases including development, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Exposure to any of the modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue is a great plus
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
  • Experience with automated test scripts, continuous builds, and deployment.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects with material technical risk at a team level.

Due to the nature of this role and its alignment with U.S. Federal customer requirements, only candidates who are U.S. Citizens, U.S. Naturalized Citizens, or U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) will be considered.
 
This position also requires successful completion of the USFedPASS (U.S. Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards) process, which includes:
 - A credit check
 - A criminal/misdemeanor background check
 - A drug screening
 - Verification of U.S. work authorization
 
These requirements are in accordance with applicable U.S. laws and federal contract obligations.
