Coord, Quality & Risk Mgmt I - Conroe

The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in the coordination and/or facilitation of quality assessment activities for improved patient safety, quality of care, and mitigation of risk.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for functioning as a patient liaison to inquiring third parties.

• Performs initial triage for both access to care, and quality of care generated from third parties inquiries.

• Intervenes as necessary to identified barriers to patient care

• Reports and follows through on identified or suspected risk concerns

• Processes data, and tracks and provides reports of third party communication

• Process data for Dashboard Measures

• Maintains department records/filing system in conjunction with department Record Retention Coordinator

• Provides input and recommendation to the Program Manager.

• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.

• Performs other related duties as required.

EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standard office environment. May be required to work within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center.
May be exposed to occupational hazards such as harmful chemicals.

Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

•  High school or equivalent.

•  LVN and five years clinical nursing experience; or RN and three years clinical nursing experience 

Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
