About the role

Overview:

Bankrate is redefining how millions of consumers connect with financial products—using AI, advanced data platforms, and enterprise-grade decisioning to drive smarter outcomes. To support this evolution, we’re seeking a Head of Business Intelligence to build and own Bankrate’s enterprise BI platform as the company’s single source of truth.

This leader will transform fragmented data into a trusted, scalable analytics ecosystem that powers decision-making across product, marketing, finance, partnerships, and executive leadership. Operating at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, governance, and operations, the Head of BI will set the technical foundation and operating standards needed to support Bankrate’s continued growth and AI-driven marketplace.

This leader will set the BI foundation for a category-leading financial platform at a pivotal moment of growth. You’ll shape how data and AI drive enterprise decisions and directly impact how millions of consumers connect with trusted financial products—building systems designed to scale for the next decade.

This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates (East coast preference), with hybrid being central to our New York, NY or Charlotte area offices.

What You’ll Do:

  • Enterprise BI Platform & Architecture
    • Build and own Bankrate's enterprise BI platform as the company's single source of truth
    • Integrate and model data across CRM, billing, ad platforms, partners and product systems
    • Own BI tooling strategy, vendors, and long-term platform decisions
  • Metrics, Governance & Trust
    • Define and govern company-wide metrics, KPIs, and reporting standards
    • Eliminate conflicting metrics and enable trusted, executive-ready reporting
    • Balance scalable self-service analytics with strong governance
  • Data Quality, Reliability & Security
    • Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability through testing, monitoring, and SLAs
    • Embed security, access control, and compliance into all BI workflows
  • Analytics Enablement & Insights
    • Deliver intuitive dashboards and self-service analytics for executives and operators
    • Ensure insights are actionable, consistent, and easy to use across the organization
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Build and lead a high-performing BI team
    • Partner closely with Product, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, and executive leadership

What We’re Looking For:

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering
  • Proven success building and scaling enterprise-grade BI platforms and operating models
  • Deep expertise in data modeling, metrics, and analytics architecture
  • Strong command of data quality, testing, observability, and governance practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and scale high-performing teams
  • Experience partnering closely with Finance, Product, Marketing, and Engineering leaders

Preferred

  • Background in fintech, financial services, marketplaces, or performance-driven businesses
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, experimentation, or advanced decisioning platforms
  • Experience operating in regulated or compliance-heavy environments
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern BI, data warehousing, and analytics tool ecosystems

Compensation: 

  • Total Cash Compensation Range: $175,000 - $280,000 + equity
  • Total Cash Compensation Range, New York, NY: $218,270 - $350,000 + equity

*Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience
