Advanced Steam Systems Operator-Mount Sinai Hospital
Operates, maintains and repairs Plant equipment such as: boilers, furnaces, pumps, fans, engines, turbines, compressors, heating and ventilating equipment.
- Observes meters and gauges to determine operating condition of equipment. Detects malfunctioning of equipment and controls oil and water flow to boiler.
- Regulates and starts equipment, adjusts levers, throttles, valves and controllers for all equipment. Inspects equipment for the need for adjustment and repair.
- Makes chemical tests of boiler and other fluids and alters chemical treatment as required.
- May assist in internal boiler cleaning.
- Records data such as hours of equipment operation, temperature pressures, use and consumption of fuel water electricity equipment in use and general conditions of equipment.
- Assists Watch Engineers and performs all duties under their supervision and assignment.
- Performs other related duties.
Requirements:
High School/GED
Minimum of five years experience in tending boilers via pneumatic, manual and computer based boilers on high pressure boilers, soot blower operation. Maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and repairs of plant related mechanical equipment, boiler cleaning.NYC DEP license, lathe, milling machine and machinist experience a plus.

Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $33.09 - $35.77 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
