General Production Associates (Utility I - Labor)

GENERAL PRODUCTION ASSOCIATES (UTILITY I - LABOR) - ATWATER, CA.

•  Hourly Rate = $16.87

OVERVIEW: 

Ensure the company follows or improves the manufacturing of food products for human consumption.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

• Ability to operate the empty can de-palletizer line.
• Remove damaged empty cans from the accumulation table when operating the de-palletizer. 
• Remove plastic from full empty can pallets prior to loading into the de-palletizer system
• Maintain the empty can usage log during the shift assigned.
• Ability to operate switches to control product flow into fillers and communicate with seamer operator when product flow is low to prevent out-of-spec production.  
• Understands how to properly sort when placed on the inspection table and report any FM findings to the shift supervisor or line checker, including metal detection.
• Report any FM findings to the shift supervisor or line checker when sorting product.
• Understand the bean dump procedure and communicate with the bean dump driver.
• Food Safety Magnet inspection and report any findings to the shift supervisor.
• Manually drop ingredients into cans when assigned according to SOP.
• Assist with Mectra System basket capsizing.
• Production Posting (Tagger) using a computer or scanner.
• Supply can end to seamer operators as needed.
• Follow company policies on safety, quality, sanitation, and good manufacturing practices.
• Housekeeping and will perform sanitation duties as needed in the work area.
• Assist in other areas when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Excellent ability to resolve issues and solve problems through personal interaction.  Above-average verbal and written communication skills are essential. Some knowledge of Spanish is helpful but not required.

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production data.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Must be able to speak and read English and pass an assessment test (if applicable).

Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages. Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, thoroughness, and efficiency.

Technology Systems: Some experience with computers or scanners is preferred.

Initiative and Ingenuity - Ability to apply appropriate judgment and initiative in determining the source of information, and action required for results and solutions.  Demonstrates a willingness to learn and the ability to handle new responsibilities.
