The team oversees the development of the core algorithms, the signal processing tools, some graphical user interface for Ansys Sound and the open-source project PyAnsys Sound.</span></p> <p><span>In this role you will collaborate with a team of experts to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives, to develop quality code in Python and C++, well-documented and tested.</span></p> <p><span>A knowledge of Ansys Mechanical, its NVH and acoustic features is a plus. It is valuable to possess experience or a good understanding of the acoustic and vibration measurement and testing fields in the industry.</span></p> <p><span>The Senior R&amp;D Engineer is responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Senior R&amp;D Engineer will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong><span>Key Duties and Responsibilities</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Participates in planning, architecture, and research</span></li> <li><span>Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research</span></li> <li><span>Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring</span></li> <li><span>Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. </span></li> <li><span>Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions</span></li> <li><span>Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions</span></li> <li><span>Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities</span></li> <li><span>May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong><span>Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience </span></li> <li><span>Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies</span></li> <li><span>Skilled in Python, C++</span></li> <li><span>Good understanding of signal processing for time signals (FFT, STFT, filtering, etc.)</span></li> <li><span>Familiarity with development tools under Windows OS: Visual Studio, VS Code, git, Azure DevOps</span></li> <li><span>Knowledge of UML and object-oriented technologies</span></li> <li><span>Good communication and interpersonal skills</span></li> <li><span>Strong communication skills in written and spoken English</span></li> <li><span>Rigor, curiosity, and open mindset - ability to learn quickly and to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong><span>Preferred Qualifications and Skills</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Experience with CAE tools, like Ansys Mechanical, Workbench, in particular acoustics solvers</span></li> <li><span>Knowledge in signal processing, acoustics and NVH</span></li> <li><span>Good understanding of the software development process</span></li> <li><span>Experience with an agile development process</span></li> <li><span>Familiar with GitHub and Azure DevOps CI/CD process and maintenance</span></li> </ul> <p> </p><p> </p> <p>At Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
