About the role
Accela is seeking a Sr Commission Analyst who can play an integral role in administrating the company’s compensation program. This position is a 4-5 month contract with a cyclical work schedule.
NOTE: 25-30 hours per week. Typically, the first half of the month is busier (average of 30 hours per week) and the second half of the month slows down (average of 20 hours per week).
About the Role
As Sr. Commission Analyst at Accela you will work across multiple functions supporting activities with the administration of the company’s compensation programs. Additionally, you will administrate the calculation of the sales team compensation, facilitate accurate and timely commission payments, and maintain a reporting dashboard of commission related attainment and metrics. This will include the development of business insights for Finance and Sales leaders on growth and booking performance, sales representative attainment, and payout ratios.
A strong sense of ownership and an attention to detail is crucial for success in role. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally with business intelligence and to drive automation in our management reporting.
Specific Responsibilities
- Administrate Accela’s compensation software (Captivated IQ), calculate and validate commission payments within company and program policies, maintain the compensation system for plan changes and enhancements during the plan year and for the new plan year
- Maintain and publish commissions payment dashboard, model commissions expense forecasts, and help establish other program changes as needed
- Provide monthly commission payment schedules to accounting and payroll
- Act as first point of contact for commission related questions and provide thorough and timely answers to the sales and sales management teams as needed
- Support the Accounting team with timely and accurate preparation of monthly reports and reconciliations for commissions accounting
Mandatory Skills and Requirements
- 3-5 years of high-tech company experience (SaaS/Cloud model preferred) with variable compensation calculations and a minimum 2-3 years of experience as commissions administrator
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with complex sales commission programs, sales compensation administration, and reporting and analytics
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented self-starter. Ability to work independently but also in highly collaborative team environment
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to provide solutions to open-ended problems
- Strong business partnership abilities to collaborate cross functionally
- Advanced Excel and strong systems skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Desired Qualifications
Captivate IQ, Salesforce, and NetSuite experience preferred
The base pay range for this position is $38 - $50 per hour. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
