The Technology Finance CVP will play an integral role within the finance domain responsible for planning, budgeting, forecasting and analytics of the New York Life Technology expense base, focusing on Infrastructure, Corporate and Office of the CIO departments.
The role will be required to partner with Technology, Procurement, Business and Finance leadership to drive the financial management of the technology expense base. This partnership and support include, but not limited to, strategic partnership in an FP&A role with Technology senior management, deep analytics on Labor contracts, monthly financial close, quarterly financial forecasts, monthly financial reviews, consolidation and reporting on budget and forecast variances, presentation of results and other statistical analytics. This role will interact with key stake holders of the organization and various levels of management, within the Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Business departments and the candidate must be able to articulate key financial drivers.
This position requires advanced analytical and communication skill sets to ensure requests are understood, processed and delivered within applicable time frames, and in accordance with New York Life’s accounting policies and specific technical requirements. A strong ability to work independently, as well as a member of a cross-functional team is expected.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for building strategic relationships with appropriate stakeholders within Technology, Procurement, offshore support team, and extended Finance partners
- Provide insight-driven analysis and be adept at “storytelling”- i.e. communicating overarching themes and trends clearly to senior technology leadership
- Responsible for understanding, adjusting, and managing the forecast for the Shared Technology Value Streams/Centers of Excellence and be able to explain results to business partners and stakeholders
- Understanding aligning expenses within Apptio environment against Internal Order structure as it pertains to different financial components of the Shared Technology organizations
- Deliver the budget, planning, forecasting, and reporting for the Shared Technology area with the ability to interface regularly with technology managers, and key financial contacts.
- Ability to develop and manage business cases and communicate them in a clear manner to technology and finance leaders
- Responsible for reviewing monthly financial results with ability to investigate and understand variances, drivers, and deviations from plan and/or forecast
- Develop and analyze monthly financial processes and controls for the areas they support to ensure accurat
