Who We Need The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions and reporting. This position will involve a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and assisting with audits and budgeting processes. This position requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.  Our office is located in Mesa, AZ Duties & Responsibilities: General Ledger Management:

• Prepares simple to complex journal entries to record various financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.

 Account Reconciliation:

• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

 Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Generate and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making.

 Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Provide support for variance analysis and financial planning activities.

 Audit Support:

• Prepare documentation and schedules for external audits.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance and address any audit findings.

 Compliance and Internal Controls:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.

 Other Duties:

• Attend meetings as assigned and actively participate in committees as assigned.
• Adherence to all agency policies, licensure, and training requirements.
• To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.

 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit setting.
