Located in Dublin, Cruiserath Biologics Campus, a one billion Multi-Product Cell Culture Biologics Manufacturing facility plays a central role in the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) network as the company’s first European biologics manufacturing facility.  This state of the art facility will produce multiple therapies for the company’s growing biologics portfolio. Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus.

Position Summary

BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking to recruit a permanent Manager, Environmental Engineering Operations.

The Manager, Environmental Engineering Operations will act as Operational owner for all equipment and processes related to the Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant (BWWTP), and other equipment and services related to Industrial Emissions License at the BMS Cruiserath Site. This position will oversee all operations of the BWWTP services by third parties. The position will support the development of annual budgets for all Environmental services related areas

This position will have regular communication to BMS leadership team

Key Responsibilities

Act as BMS operational and maintenance owner for Liquid Waste operations at Cruiserath Biologics Site.

The operations will include the safe and environmentally compliant operation of;

  • BWWTP and associated equipment
  • All Liquid waste handling and treatment
  • Operation, upkeep and ongoing testing of Bunds, Sumps and Drains (Foul, Process and Surface Water) This will include all associated instrumentation and the ongoing management of oil interceptors, Grease trap management etc. etc.
  • Firewater retention pond
  • Surface water attenuation pond
  • Assist in budget preparations for annual operation and any improvements/ modifications/projects related to waste systems equipment.
  • Work closely with the EOHSS Team to ensure a consistent approach is adopted for all EHS Management systems and Global EOHSS KPI’s.
  • Ensure equipment malfunctions are reported in a timely manner to the responsible maintenance group, and followed up to completion, ensuring the reliability of the plant.
  • Work with the relevant maintenance team to ensure the plant and equipment is maintained to the appropriate standards, providing a safe operating environment, minimizing downtime and maximizing reliability.
  • Participate in the long-term strategic planning for Waste services and input into Capital planning/asset lifecycling
  • Provide input to development of business case, user requirements, design across all projects in the areas of responsibility from initial project recognition to the installation, commissioning and handover of the project.
  • Be the owner of any change controls or contribute as Impact assessor for related changes/projects depending on level of change
  • Engage internal stakeholders, and 3rd party consultants where necessary, to support analytical assessments driven by new product introductions or process improvements
  • Performing/facilitating root-cause failure analysis (Cause Mapping) on chronic/critical/high impact failures.
