Position Overview: Our company seeks an experienced tax professional with strong partnership taxation reporting and compliance experience to join our corporate accounting team as a Tax Manager. In this position you will be responsible for managing the consolidated tax reporting and compliance activities of Patriot partner agencies. This will also include monthly maintenance of partner agencies’ capital accounts.
Work location – this is a full time, fully remote position, with a preference for qualified tax candidates in the Northeastern or MidAtlantic U.S. regions.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning to address Patriot partner agencies’ tax-related matters efficiently.
- Develop strategic tax planning initiatives to enhance compliance and financial efficiency
- Engage with the Patriot leadership team to convey important tax matters identified and provide expert guidance to a resolution
- Develop a process for calculating and maintaining tax basis balance sheets and income statements for Patriot partner agencies monthly
- Work closely with the accounting and financial reporting team to obtain necessary tax information and support documents
- Review and manage the tax work compiled by external tax consultants including
- Review K-1 reporting packages and capital account schedules
- Review of C-Corp and S-Corp tax returns
- Review of estimated tax payments and partner distributions
- Organize and track state and local tax payments
- Effectively communicate tax matters identified to Patriot partners and respond to their tax inquiries
- Monitor and manage tax notices and correspondence from federal and state agencies; assess appropriate actions and coordinate resolution with the relevant tax authorities.
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships with internal and external personnel
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or a business-related field
- 6-8 years of relevant tax experience working in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, or a large corporate insurance tax
