How can you make a difference?

You as the Supply and Logistics Specialist report to the Chief of Operations or Supply and Logistics Manager, depending on the Country Office (CO) structure. You are responsible for managing the supply chains of a small-sized country office and/or a small-scale emergency response operation, or specific elements of a larger supply operation. Your responsibilities include overseeing supply chain processes such as planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport and distribution, as well as monitoring supplies, services, and construction works. You also support collaboration with programmes to define supply interventions that meet programmatic needs and deliver results for children, while providing technical and advisory support to governments, national systems, and partners on supply chain management.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements

• Education: An advanced university degree is required in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health or related social science field, or relevant first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in conjunction with a valid relevant professional certification is required.
• Work Experience A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, at the national and international levels, in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, administration and/or other directly-related technical fields is required.
• Skills: Strong competencies in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Operations, Public Procurement, Supply Chain Operations, Risk Management, and Negotiation Skills are required.
• Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. 

Desirables

• Language: knowledge of another official un language (chinese, french, russian or spanish) or a local language
• Experience in emergency response is considered an asset.
• Experience in health supply chain management is considered an asset.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
