About This Role

iRhythm is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Manufacturing Operations in our Cypress, CA location. The role is responsible for the overall manufacturing process including board testing, final assembly, and Intake operations (i.e., device returns for data extraction). This includes the oversight of Intake Operations in our Deerfield, IL location.  This individual will oversee four supervisors (2 MFG, 2 Intake). The Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing & Intake products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. The Manager will act as advisor to Supervisors aiding in operations and resolving technical problems. You will also be responsible for creating and administering production schedules, developing and monitoring performance requirements; and you may have budget responsibilities in this position.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and directing the Manufacturing & Intake Operations to meet company goals for quality, quantity, and cost, and in compliance with medical device regulations.
  • Build and maintain interdepartmental relationships with Human Resources, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Customer Care.
  • Support New Product Introduction to manufacturing and new Intake tools applications.
  • Establishing and controlling conditions of production in order to support on-time, high-quality shipments that meet customer and patient expectations.
  • Managing production scheduling for manufacturing and Intake sites.
  • Participating actively in standardization, cost reduction, and ERP utilization activities.
  • Planning inventory needs in close coordination with the Material and Supply Chain functions to satisfy business needs.
  • Developing and motivating cost-effective alternatives and improvements to manufacturing & Intake processes.
  • Ensuring proper staffing levels, quality, and quantity, to meet customer requirements and achieving productivity
  • Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating a safe, efficient, and fun working environment.
  • Fostering a collaborative, open and boundaryless culture of ownership and accountability
  • Ensuring that all employees receive adequate training, product is manufactured within current specifications, and that all SOP’s, Work Instructions and Guidelines are appropriately enforced.
  • Encouraging development opportunities for team members through participation in education programs, current literature, training meetings and workshops. 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial/manufacturing engineering or alternate technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ progressive operations/manufacturing experience with at least 3 years of that in management within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Medical Device, Pharma, or Biotech experience; thorough understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
  • Proven track record of leading a team to consistently deliver high-quality products.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; clear examples of motivating, influencing, and developing team members at all levels.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment; familiarity with automation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate complex information to all employee levels, and to set clear expectations.
  • Experience with ERP System (preferably QAD) and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing (or similar) principles.
