Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced cook to join our team at the Goddard School in Cordova. As a cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing nutritious meals and snacks for our preschool children. This part-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being and development of young children in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to the menu and nutritional guidelines provided by the school.
• Ensure all meals are nutritious, balanced, and appealing to young children.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Monitor food supplies and ingredients, and order as needed to maintain inventory levels.
• Collaborate with the school director and teachers to accommodate special dietary needs or preferences of children.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of food items.
• Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the Goddard School and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of nutrition and food safety guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or training is a plus.
