About the role

This temporary position provides general administrative support in the Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development (ORIED).  Additionally, the position will provide cross-team collaboration in support of ongoing research efforts. 

Administrative

 - Provide general administrative support to the Events and Operations Coordinator, the Executive  Director for Partnerships, and other team members

 - Scheduling for the Executive Director for Partnerships

 - Create and maintain division databases

 - Complete basic informational research projects

 - Manage partner@utk.edu email account by reading email and determining the response/next steps 

 - Prepare travel receipts, petty cash, invoices, and mileage report for entry into DASH

Coordination and collaboration

 - Assist with partner campus visits

 - Reserve meeting rooms

 - Coordinate catering for meetings and visits

 - Provide event and meeting support

- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Education: 

High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience: 

1 year experience in an office/administrative setting

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

Working knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to multitask and prioritize work within established deadlines

Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Excellent customer service skills and knowledge of basic service etiquette

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Ability to write clearly, concisely, and correctly

Flexible and adaptable, especially with new technologies and office processes

 

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: 

Bachelor’s degree 

  • Experience: 

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in a university setting
