DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: 

The Management Information Systems (MIS) Department is responsible for the organization's technology infrastructure, data management, cybersecurity, and telecommunications. Within MIS, the Infrastructure, Security, and Telecom pillar focuses on ensuring the security, stability, and efficiency of IT systems, including network infrastructure, cybersecurity defenses, and enterprise-wide IT risk management. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The Senior Security Analyst role involves managing information security tools, assisting in implementing security projects, and administrating IT security systems enterprise-wide. The individual will work closely with various IT teams and other business areas. Key responsibilities include access controls, incident detection and response, security documentation, and reporting. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Monitor network and system activity to identify and respond to cyber threats. 

• Conduct risk assessments and testing of data processing systems. 

• Lead the response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, and recovery.  

• Assist in managing firewalls, data encryption and other security measures. 

• Recommend security enhancements and solution evaluation. 

• Train staff in network and information security best practices and procedures. 

• Manage staff cyber security awareness training. 

• Cross train peers to support IT Risk management responsibilities as assigned. 

• Assist in developing, testing, and implementing network disaster recovery plans. 

• Assist in completing assigned projects. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or a related field. 

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in information technology systems and cybersecurity. 

• Strong understanding of risk assessment and analysis techniques and industry risk models. 

• At least 2 years of experience with Checkpoint network security gateway. 

• 2+ years’ experience with Forcepoint web security solution. 

• Experience conducting vulnerability testing security monitoring technology (SIEM) required. 

• Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, both written and oral. 

• Ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding risk and compliance findings. 

• Basic understanding of network protocols. 

• New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• CISSP or related information security certification is a plus but not required. 

• Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewall is a plus but not required. 

Salary Range$74,000—$76,000 USD
